Go in heavy and bring the Trans Krab! Something of an iconic paint scheme now, the Trans King Crab has become a symbol of not moving on the stance that trans rights are human rights.

Artist Notes

This is a bare-bones & basic paint scheme that stands out with few steps.

Primer: White or off-white. Citadel Wraithbone used here but any will do.

‘Mech Body: Vallejo Deep Sky Blue, Vallejo Squid Pink, Vallejo White

Accents/Weapons Vallejo Gunmetal, Citadel Nuln Oil

Cockpit: Citadel Iyanden Yellow

Panel lining: Citadel Nuln Oil

Base: Vallejo Ground Texture (Grey Pumice), Vallejo Stonewall Grey, Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade

Base Rim: Vallejo Deep Sky Blue, Vallejo Squid Pink, Vallejo White, Vallejo Black

Painting process

Prime ‘Mech with any white or off-white primer. These colours are all solidly opaque so no need for fancy priming.

Block out main colours on the ‘Mech one colour at a time.Laying the brush flat and dragging it across the ‘Mech helps to keep the lines clean.

Paint up the weapons barrels, missile pod, and any metallic accents with Gunmetal.

Tidy up any spillover. As these colours are opaque you can easily touch up with the correct paint.

Use a covering of Nuln Oil on all metallic paint, go heavy in the weapon barrels.

Lightly drag a small brush with Nuln Oil through the gaps in the armour plates to create depth.

Paint the cockpit with Iyanden Yellow contrast paint. Don’t worry if it pools a little in the edges as this is a quick way to do window shading.

Cover the base in a layer of Ground Texture. Shape it however you want and add any debris you choose. I prefer a lunar surface style as it doesn’t conflict with the paint scheme.

Once dry lightly coat the Ground Texture in Stonewall Grey. Then when the paint has dried brush over a heavy layer of Drakenhof Nightshade. Let it pool in some places to accent depth in the terrain.

Paint the rim front in the Trans Pride flag in whatever design you choose. Paint the rest of the base rim black.

And you’re done! This Trans Krab is now ready to bust bigots on the battlefield!

[949
62
882
307
317,822
54,310,114

57,429
post-2034","miniature","type-miniature","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","artist-jamie-kaiju-marriage","canonicity-non-canon","command-pride-color-schemes","faction-non-faction-scheme","model-battlemech","model-king-crab","primary-color-blue","primary-color-pink","primary-color-white","miniature-source-cgl-plastic","miniature-source-comstar-command-level-ii
["GET
